Blog Mistakes To Avoid Like The Plague
Blog mistakes when people start blogging are bound to happen when you start doing a blog.
Here are 5 blog mistakes that if avoided will automatically set you apart from the crowed and get visitors flocking to your site.
Now this blog mistake is a big one with me, I used to suffer from this one a lot .
1) Not thinking from a visitors point of view, looking at things from my perspective, I was focusing inwards and asking myself what right have I got
to be saying this or that, Or how qualified I am to teach this technical lesson ?
All these questions used to run through my mind.
One of my Blog Mistakes was I did not fully understand or realise was my target audience!
I was not trying to train Apples Steve Jobb on computers, my target market are newbie’s people who categories themselves as tecno-phobes.
These people want bite size chunks of knowledge that doesn’t start them feeling or should I say to suffer from overwhelm like I did when I first started out.
I did not know how to send an e-mail.0)
People some times think that they have to impress other people and that they can’t talk about the same issues and subject as other people because they have not got the same expertise.
Don’t over estimate your marketing audience, most people wont put in the time to learn marketing stuff and they want quick fast marketing solutions, So give them small amounts of information
that solves their problems
2) The second marketing mistake is ABC “Always Be Consistent”, most people blogging online are not consistent . Why ?
Because it takes disciplined effort to post a blog everyday, I find this hard ! But this is a habit that I must form if I want to reach my goals.
If you become consistent at posting good content onto your blog you can not help but get leads , Which is the name of the game!
3) This is a classic blog mistake especially for people trying to market online, Your “OPT-IN Form, you know the little form that goes on your blog to collect names and emails. The only reason that you are building a blog and writing content is to get people on your list, or what’s the point ? (talking from a marketing stand point) The whole idea for your blog is to capture names email address and some times phone numbers so that you build your list.
Your blog is your blog, nobody can ban you from your blog. Your blogging strategy should be to get people from the social media platforms like Youtube, Facebook and Twitter onto your blog and then onto your list.
You then give them quality content making them into fans, who leave comments on your blog (Social Proof ) that unlike Facebook stay on your blog forever . You have total control of all comments ! Don’t forget your list is your Asset!
4) Procrastination is one of the biggest blog mistakes that marketer’s make they think that their blog has to be perfect, and while they are planning their competition has got a 6 month head start and the guy who didn’t’ t procrastinate has learned by his mistakes and built an awesome blog . ( My first blog was terrible by the way) Your blog will develop as you grow into a brand with you over time.
5) The last blog mistake is trying to sell all the time to your list or the opposite not being regular with your email messages. send a email at least once a week as long as it contains good content and don’t try and sell people on every e-mail, give people on your list what they need and wants, solutions to their problems .
Blog mistakes are nothing but learning curves!
Marketing with your blog is going to help you not only earn money but will help you brand yourself, build your business and develop a targeted responsive list. Your blog is your store so don’t be afraid of making any blog mistakes just build your blog and start posting on your blog .
